SERBIAN VETERANS ESTABLISHED THEIR NATIONAL TEAM
With the great support and help of Serbian Rugby Union - RSS and as the result of enormous work of Vets - Coordinator and motivator Milos Milutinovic, Veteran National Side had been estbalished.
Former legendary players from Belgrade, Pancevo, Nis and Starcevo gathered in Starcevo on May 22nd 2016 to play the first ever game as "National side".
The "Serberians", how they call themseles, played vs. RK "Borac" Old Boys under the perfect weather and field conditions in Starcevo.
The young referee Aleksander Lelik guided this match with the impressive souverenity . . .
General Secretary of RSS Marko Jovanovic as well as Milos Milutinovic are very determine when speaking about the "main aim of founding such a team" . . .
"Veteran National Side of Serbia will be the great promotor of Veteran sports and Rugby in our Country, taking part at national and international events too. The veterans from all our clubs are welcome to join this team any time."
The "Serberians" are preparing themselves already for the next step - participation at the 1st EVRA Belgrade Veteran Rugby Tournament,, to take place in the Capital town on September 24th.
This Tournament, included in alltogether 54 "EVRA 2016 events" in very different European countries, is the part of already traditional European Series sponsored by Licor Beirao (Portugal) and José Redondo, the great "friend and rugby supporter".
For this innaugural team of "Serberians" had played: Arsenijevic Miro, Bojovic Mihajlo, Djukic Sasa, Grujic Dragan, Jakisic Aleksandar, Jerotijevic Dusan, Medic Milan, Mitic Srdjan, Nikolic Predrag, Pavlovic Aleksandar, Tasic Dejan (all RK "Partizan" Belgrade), Djurdjev Dragan, Gavrilovic Djordje, Filipovic Goran, Mijic Tomislav, Parcetic Vladimir, Sekulovic Marko (all RK "Dinamo" Vets, Pancevo),
Milic Sasa, Milutinovic Milos, Stojadinovic Sasa (all RK "Student" Nis).
