THE PIONEERS OF RUGBY

They all started to play Rugby in former Yugoslavia mid fifties of the last century . . .

Milorad Filipovic - Fica (75) RK Student/Nis, Milos Kostic (76) Partizan/Belgrade, Branko Piper (77) Partizan/Belgrade, Dusan Novakov - Duda (76) Dinamo/Pancevo, Marko Protega (74) Nada/Split, Petar Cukanic (75) Partizan/Belgrade developed themselves to well known National and International players, Yugoslav champions, coaches and administrators, National coaches and the club founders . . . they dedicated their lives to our Sport.

They remained "faithful" to Rugby until now a days . . . the opportunity to come and be the part of the first ever Veteran Rugby Tournament in Belgrade, as the part of EVRA Series, they did not want to "miss".

Meeting "old rugby friends" a lot of nice memories "came out from the buttom of their souls" . . . promising each to other to meet again at the next Event of Veteran rugby.

Photo, taken by Miro Arsenijevic (Belgrade) show the pioneers (from left to right): M. Filipovic, M. Kostic, B. Piper, D. Novakov, M. Protega and  P. Cukanic.
