1st International E.V.R.A. Festival Rugby XV
RC "Dinamo“ Veterans (Pancevo, Serbia) have organized their first Rugby XV Festival with the participation of RK "Borac“ (Starcevo), RK "Partizan“ (Belgrade) and E.V.R.A. Selection.
Matches played at the stadium of Town Sports centre "Mladost“ attracted quite a number of spectators on that Saturday afternoon.
Two young referees from Belgrade (D. Stiglic and A. Poprecica) "mastered“ all the games with a proper feeling for veteran rugby.
For the first time E.V.R.A. Selection took part at one of Licor Beirao European Series events. Combined team of the players from Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenija had given "special flare“ to this very well organized rugby event of Fun, Friendship & Fraternity.
Selection was captained by Jorge de Herédia, former Portugues International player (Cascais RFC).
Each of the teams has been awarded with the special engraved Festival plague, Rugby ball gateau went to Andrija Parcetic legendary player of RC "Dinamo“, and the worthy Rugby jersey of the Iberian Classics (team of former Spanish and Portuguese Internationals) got E.V.R.A. Selection player Ljubo Rezar (Slovenija) as the heaviest one - 143 Kg!
Festival organisers Marko Sekulovic, Kovac Lazar, Novakov Dusan with their Club President Dusan Mrvos had shown great hospitality for the participants of the first Executive Board meeting and country representatives, held the same day.
